THE Copenhagen Eco Hotel: An Unforgettable Experience At Manon Les Suites
Manon Les Suites is THE Copenhagen Eco Hotel of your dreams. Maybe you didn’t even know you were dreaming of eco hotels in Denmark, but this 5-star urban oasis is worth adding to your bucket list. We might even go so far as to say that you should book a trip to Copenhagen just. to. stay. here. Of course, the city is stunning in its own right and most certainly worth the trip. If you visit Copenhagen and don’t stay here, you’re missing out.
Below we share every aspect of our magical stay at Manon Les Suites, so you know exactly what to expect when you book this eco-friendly accommodation.
Book This Copenhagen Eco Hotel
First things first, book your stay at Manon Les Suites through EcoHotels.com. This booking website only represents hotels that have the certifications to back up their commitment to sustainability. Oh, and the best part? Every time you book a sustainable hotel through EcoHotels.com, the company plants a tree in your honor to increase reforestation.
Booking through EcoHotels is the first step in creating a truly sustainable travel experience. The next step to being an environmentally conscious traveler is to consider your transportation emissions. If you’re traveling by plane, consider flying one of these 5 Eco Airlines, most of which offset the carbon emissions of your flight for you.
Once you arrive at Manon Les Suites, you can rest assured that they’ve thought of everything from an environmental perspective.
The Guldsmeden Hotel Chain
Manon Les Suites is part of a chain of Copenhagen eco hotels known as Guldsmeden Hotels. This company offers 5 unique hotels spread across the city of Copenhagen, that all share a similar charm and commitment to sustainability. Beyond Denmark, Guldsmeden also has properties in Germany, France, Norway, Iceland, and Bali!
One of the best elements of ecotourism is education – the chance to come away from an experience with new ideas about how to make your lifestyle more eco-friendly. Guldsmeden weaves education into every single one of their sustainability efforts, sharing the why behind everything from their bed linens to their bathroom products. You’ll find numerous cards and pamphlets throughout your room that detail the hotel’s commitment to sustainability and outline the careful choices that have been made with both guest and planet in mind.

The Rooms
This Copenhagen eco hotel is the essence of hospitality. You can tell how much love has been poured into Manon Les Suites. The attention to detail is truly remarkable, and it has its intended effect, offering guests a magical experience.
Upon arrival in the quaint lobby, you receive a boarding pass and passport along with your wooden room key. These pamphlets introduce you to your very own travel agent, a member of the hotel staff who will assist you throughout your stay with anything your heart desires.
Our travel agent was Chrishie, and she kindly held our bags for us all day so that we could explore Copenhagen while we waited for our room to be ready. Amazingly, when we came back to the hotel to check in, Chrishie informed us that she’d upgraded us to a poolside suite, free of charge.
While we’d paid for a regular room, we wound up staying in one with a full living room, kitchenette, and separate sleeping area. This room also had two bathrooms!
Slippers and robes await you in your bedroom, and you’ll quickly learn that this is the uniform among guests lounging beside the pool.

A Magical Pool
There is no better word to describe this balinese style pool. It’s pure magic. White canopy daybeds full of pillows, a poolside bar with fruit infused water and cocktails, lush flowers and greenery everywhere you look. You’ll be bathed in the orange glow of the hanging lights, and shimmering disco ball; black and gray floor to ceiling tiles make the space feel like a true oasis. The only downside to staying at this Copenhagen eco hotel is that you’ll never want to leave.
While most people think of swimming as a day time activity, it’s at night that this pool comes alive with a lights display. We recommend you spend at least one night inside the hotel, taking it all in. Start by dining upstairs at the rooftop restaurant. After that, slip out of your day clothes and into your swimsuit and robe for a night time dip in the pool. You can close out your night at the rooftop spa in either the sauna or steam room – all included with your stay.

The Rooftop Restaurant
Restaurant Chapung is just an elevator ride away from your room. This rooftop restaurant offers indoor and outdoor dining space and a view of Copenhagen lakes during the daytime. The evening ambience is impossible to beat with an open kitchen, modern dinnerware, and sleek design.
As promised, the restaurant has a strong focus on sustainability, curating dishes with local & organic produce. We love to support the local economies of the places we visit, and we’re even more obsessed with eating locally grown food. This Copenhagen eco hotel perfectly accommodates our travel style.
The Rooftop Spa
As if all of this weren’t enough, Manon Les Suites offers a rooftop spa included with your stay. Wake up, eat an organic breakfast on the rooftop, and then change into your swimsuit for a morning at the spa. Upstairs you will find both a steam room and a sauna. There is also a shower with the cutest hanging bucket and rope, so you can try a cold plunge to wake yourself up before you heat up in the sauna.
The spa includes fresh towels and fruit infused water to stay hydrated. You can even add a pinch of sea salt to your water for those key electrolytes that your body needs for optimal health. This might be a small detail, but it just goes to show that the staff at Manon Les Suites have thought of everything!

The Jungle Gym
Located in the basement of the hotel is the Jungle Gym. This impressive gym boasts a boxing ring and three separate workout areas. The space outshines average hotel workout facilities with its unique style, ample space, and range of equipment.
Location
If this Copenhagen eco hotel has one flaw, it’s the location. Manon Les Suites is located on a busy road in the center of the city. It’s not the most quaint or quiet area of the city, and it’s certainly not the most idyllic. But it’s still near some highly recommended spots, like The King’s Garden, and the amazing Nordic Restaurant, Host.
While the location isn’t stunning, it’s also not a dealbreaker. Manon Les Suites is only about a 7 minute walk from the Metro (stop name: Forum), which is the ideal form of public transportation for travelers. We believe it’s still worth staying here, but know that when you arrive, you’re not seeing the very best of Copenhagen just outside your door. You’ll need to wander into other areas of the city to experience the authentic Danish charm.
If you have a few nights to spend in Copenhagen, our best recommendation is to split them between Manon Les Suites and Babette Guldsmeden, another of the Guldsmeden hotel properties that is perfectly situated in the city. A stay at Babette comes with a view of the stunning Frederik’s Church. This property is just across from the historic Kastellet citadel, surrounded by a lush public park. You’ll be just a short 4 minute walk from the metro at Babette.

If you’re planning a trip to Copenhagen and not sure where to start, check out our Copenhagen Travel Itinerary, which breaks down some of the best restaurants and activities the city has to offer. When you travel, you have an opportunity to put your money toward worthy causes. It’s important to recognize the chance you have, to advance the ecotourism industry, by choosing to support the establishments hard at work to create a cleaner future.
Guldsmeden Eco Hotels will not only provide you with a stay you’ll never forget, but will also educate you on how to make small adjustments to your own lifestyle to be more eco-friendly. The small changes and choices we make every day add up to a big impact. Together, we can change the travel industry, and hopefully, the world.
